To contribute to the formulation and implementation of research projects in Population Health.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Expertise Contribution:
- Utilize expertise in the designated field to enhance research endeavors within the institute.
- Research Project Formulation:
- Develop innovative research projects aligned with the DDI’s research strategy to address priority areas related to diabetes in Kuwait.
- Grant Proposal Preparation:
- Draft comprehensive research proposals for funding opportunities offered by DDI and other relevant funding sources.
- Manuscript Preparation:
- Prepare manuscripts for submission to esteemed peer-reviewed journals, based on completed research projects.
- Documentation:
- Produce various documents as requested by the unit head, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to specified guidelines.
- Project Implementation:
- Actively contribute to the implementation of ongoing research projects within the unit, collaborating with fellow researchers and stakeholders as necessary.
- Presentation Preparation:
- Prepare presentations summarizing research findings for internal meetings, conferences, and other scientific forums, in collaboration with the unit head and research team.
- Mentorship and Training:
- Provide mentorship and training to junior researchers, interns, and graduate students involved in research projects within the unit, fostering their professional development.
- Collaboration and Networking:
- Actively engage in collaborations with other research institutions, academic partners, and stakeholders both locally and internationally to enhance research efforts and promote knowledge exchange.
- Any additional tasks assigned by the manager are integral to the successful execution of research projects and contribute to the overall effectiveness and impact of the research sector at the Dasman Diabetes Institute.
Required Skills and Expertise:
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Epidemiology, Population Health, Nutrition, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in epidemiological research methodologies, statistical analysis, and data interpretation.
- Proven track record of research productivity, evidenced by publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team.
- Prior experience in diabetes research or related fields is desirable but not mandatory.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in research by upholding rigorous scientific standards and methodologies, striving for accuracy, reliability, and reproducibility in all research endeavors.
- Adhere to professional and ethical codes of conduct, including integrity, honesty, and transparency in research practices, data reporting, and academic publishing.
