Function
The Population Health Department at the Dasman Diabetes Institute is seeking a biostatistician to aid in the analysis of data from large national health studies.
Responsibilities
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and executing appropriate statistical analysis plans
- Organize the data management and analysis relative to specific statistical analysis plans
- Create programs in SAS, SPSS, R, or Stata for the creation of analysis datasets
- Follow all SOP in the management and development of datasets
- Aid in the preparation of statistical results for dissemination including journal manuscripts, presentation, posters, and abstracts
- Provide data summary and analysis reports including both data and text summaries
- Work with project investigators and staff to mine additional information databases
- Provide supervision and mentoring to staff within the institute
- Perform any other data management or statistical tasks deemed necessary by the Head of Department for completion of projects
- Comply with ethics, privacy, encryption, and rules for data security
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervision required
Required Skills and Expertise:
- Mid-career level
- Publications in peer reviewed journals in relevant field; with reputable H-Index
- 5-7 years experience with interdisciplinary research
- Experience in epidemiological research related to diabetes, obesity, registries, population health survey and surveillance
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
Other Comments:
- PhD in biostatistics or medical statistics
