Function
Provide technical and scientific tasks to support research projects.
Responsibilities
1. Perform routine functions including experiments and assays related to assigned projects with minimum supervision.
2. Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory experiments and report experimental results to the relevant supervisor
3. Maintain supplies needed for research experiments and keep the inventory of related reagents updated
4. Optimize techniques and protocols as directed by the relevant supervisor
5. Participate in the implementation of SOPs and various safely guidelines
6. Undertake and/or advice any necessary training
7. Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot equipments/apparatus to ensure proper functional order, and safety
8. Operate, maintain and calibrate specialized laboratory equipment maintaining a high-level of quality assurance
9. Contributes to technical improvements and research development using an applicable range of techniques
10. Assist with general laboratory activities
11. Perform other related duties as assigned
12. Adhere to all Dasman Diabetes Institute related policies and procedures
Required Skills and Expertise:
• The candidate should have a Bachelor degree (BSc) in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• The candidate is expected to have experience in processing and separation of biological specimens, performing biochemical analysis of body fluids and tissue samples, and ability to perform all laboratory procedures in the laboratory using complex analyzers.
• The candidate is expected to be autonomous, well organized and able to work within a large team.
