Function
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall coordination and management of research projects. He/she helps to plan, implement and monitor projects according to pre-set timelines and budgets. The Project Manager reports to the Principal Investigator and works with the Co-Investigators.
Responsibilities
- Directs and manages project development
- Develops project plans and associated communications documents
- Estimates the human resources needed to achieve project goals
- Assesses the on-going need for project staff and/or consultants and takes the appropriate steps to recruit personnel during project the cycle
- Delegates tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
- Plans and schedules project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
- Develops and delivers progress reports, new proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
- Determines the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyzes results and troubleshoots problem areas.
Required Skills and Expertise:
Previous Experience:
With budgets and forecasting
Writing grants and reports
Supervising projects
Managing epidemiological research projects
Preferred but not required:
Knowledge of Viseo and MS Project
Other Comments:
Education:
MBA, MPH, MSc in Public Health, Project Management
Training in health sciences (public health, epidemiology, biostatistics etc.)
