Function
Conducts experiments with minimal supervision by the Scientist/Post doctoral Fellow/or Technical Specialist. Operates on and maintain the different laboratory equipments. Document results of experiments in note books
Responsibilities
- Maintain adequate supplies by ordering of the reagents needed for research experiments
- Document supplies deliveries on appropriate records and adequately store them
- Assemble and prepare laboratory supplies under the direction of the supervising personnel
- Conduct experiments and assays and different molecular laboratory techniques
- Assist in biological samples handling, nucleic acids extraction and archiving
- Write and optimize genetic experimental protocols
- Operates and calibrates different laboratory equipments
- Reports experimental results to researchers
- Maintain accurate, detailed records of laboratory experiments
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills and Expertise:
Education
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in life sciences. An MS is a plus
Experience and qualifications
Minimum of 3 year of experience in molecular laboratory with post Bachelor’s degree, or 2 years with a master degree. Experience PCR, molecular techniques in DNA/RNA extraction and electrophoresis is preferable.
